Life is ever changing..

Life is amazing and ever changing. In one moment, things can be totally life changing. And in your mind everything is running fast and you can’t put it together and you feel like are unable to move, breathe, and talk. My dad had a massive heart attack last Saturday night and I felt all of this. My body went into auto-pilot mode. I think that is God’s way, your body’s way of protecting itself. It was quite a scary and ever changing week.

But God is amazing, God is good, God is the great Physician. My dad is now at home and healing. I am so grateful and happy. There is so much support, help, love, and prayers. God never gives you anything that you can’t handle. I love my dad and I’m glad he is alright.

Oh the rain, the wet, wet, rain...

This rain outside today is reminding me of many days before when it has rained…one especially, the day I got married. I guess I thought of that day because it rained all day and today it’s been raining since this morning..stopping slightly, but still spitting and then pouring. Tomorrow night at my school we have our big March Madness and I have a feeling the rain might wreck it or make it a little different than we have planned it, like moving everything that we can into the cafeteria. It’s going to be interesting.

Only eight more Mondays until this school year is over. It’s a great feeling that I’m coming to the end of my first official year of teaching. It has been a good year, a growing year. I am not sure exactly what grade I will be teaching next year, since I’m a newer teacher, you can easily be moved around and 1st grade always is unaware if there will be 3 or 4 sections each year. I am praying that God places me where I need to be. He has stretched me this year and taught me many things, about myself, teaching, about children, about parents, and about the ways of life. Life can be interesting like that- you think you know where and what you’ll be doing, but then it can totally turn out differently than you planned.

But God never gives you anything you can’t handle…

Spring is here...

You can see a few green leaves popping out of the plants around our yard! It's very exciting because we had several nights with a hard freeze and we were a little unsure if some of our plants were going to live. But, there is hope! This is one of our trees in our back yard that is blooming beautiful little white flowers. I've really enjoyed getting our yard together for the spring and I'll be planting some new flowers and plants soon. I'm also excited for in the fall to plant some freesia bulbs, since it is my favorite flower.
While I was in the backyard to day pruning and raking, Ellie, our dog, joined me. She had fun playing in the hose and stealing a few of the sticks I had cut off some of the plants. She is such a sweet dog. She is even laying by my feet as I'm writing this. Allergies are something Chris and I dread each spring and poor Ellie seems to have them too..it runs in the family. Here is a cute shot I took of Ellie today in the backyard.
